Actually, the "cute", "tiny" fairy image that reached its nadir in Victorian times was pretty much a Renaissance invention. Shakespeare must take part of the blame; Drayton a good deal more.

Returning to the original question, since my favorite faire is the NJRK, I'd get a permanent site with permanent structures, natch! Also with water, electricity, better drainage, and not such a steep hill to the actors' area.

But -- big steps and little 'uns.... At least now we're not dealing with an actively hostile local government. Now if July 5/6 (newly added to the season) will only have decent weather, and we can get the word out....
