子夜讚歌 O Holy Night

今年聖誕子夜彌撒中，聖詠團又一次只用英語唱出〝O Holy Night〞一曲，原本全情投入的教友，大部份似突然安靜下來，剩下懂得英語的在努力和唱。

我在猜想會是聖詠團刻意製造〝聖誕子時歌〞的平靜氣氛，還是這歌的中文填詞不易於用粵語唱出？若真的是因為音韻不甚配合樂韻，而犧牲‘與眾同讚’的悅樂，那確是有點不值！

我謹此先行為〝O Holy Night〞填上‘廣東音’意譯詞，希望可激發大家為此等歌曲作出“腦”力！使教友們易於投入，對歌詠發出共嗚，一齊“同聲”讚美天主。

以下歌詞定有不善之處，請各位不吝賜教，給與鼓勵：─

To see the King who made earth's low-liest choic-es,
要似三皇，決心拜訪覓真理，

要去宣揚，救恩賜真、善、美！
