Subject: SHERLOCK Season 4! Closer than you think!!

The "Sherlock" Season 4 premiere date may be closer than expected, according to hints dropped by series executive producer and co-star Mark Gatiss.

Gatiss tells Radio Times this week that he and co-creator Steven Moffat have "moved significantly closer to getting a date in the diary for Series 4." Unfortunately, this does not yet mean any set dates for either filming or the release of the next season.

What is the hold-up? Essentially, the only thing stopping more "Sherlock" is time. Stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are busy making movies and other TV shows, Moffat and Gatiss have "Doctor Who" to produce, and Gatiss also has acting jobs to complete (he most recently appeared in an episode of "Game of Thrones").

Also showrunner on the BBC's other fan favourite Doctor Who, Moffat is a busy man – as is Sherlock partner Mark Gatiss, who splits his time betwen writing and acting. But the sticking point in filming new episodes has increasingly been the availability of stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, whose careers are going stratospheric, thanks in no small part to the BBC1 detective drama.

"Benedict and Martin are making some movies," also pointed out a deadpan Moffat. "If you say 'Who cares about movies?' I agree with you but they are doing them so we’ve got to schedule around that."

Still, the combination of fan fervor and creative dedication means that "Sherlock" Season 4 will be coming at some point -- hopefully sooner rather than later.

Though put me down in the category of "Willing to wait in order to keep the quality up" category.

Sorry for the delayed response, kind of technical issues at this end.

Also, Don and I are taking off with the dogs and trailer to the Washington/Oregon coast at the beginning of June, for two weeks. Unlikely to hit much wifi, so expect me to be pretty much MIA for that period.
