Subject: Sick, sick, sick......

After I watched FARGO tuesday night I got sick.

I don't know what it was exactly. Something gastric though. Either it was something unusual I ate - some peanuts, or I didn't cook the pork loin cutlet enough, or it was a gastro-intestinal disease. Worse yet, it might have been pancreatitis. I had it once before as a complication after surgery for removal of some abdominal cancerous tumors. I know it wasn't my gall-bladder because that's been removed. It went bad from the radiation therapy after the cancer operations.

Anyway, I had to hug the sink about every 3-4 hours starting at midnight (Tuesday night). Every time I was in really bad pain which makes me think it was pancreatitis. I remember that pain, the doctor told me in 1984 that the only pain worse was childbirth. I don't know how you women do it. The pain was just the half of it; I ran a fever every time also - ended up drenched in sweat every time breaking the fever. So, every time I had the pain I drank a little bit of water and it caused me to vomit. And that stopped the pain and the fever.

The last go-around came a bit after noon on Wednesday. And when the pain went away, I was certainly hoping that was the last. By 3pm I tried some iced tea and I kept it down. I wasn't getting any pain. I went to bed at 4 pm on Wednesday and piled up a bunch of pillows so I wouldn't be laying down and allow any stomach juices to come up. I didn't get up for good until noon on Thursday.

Weak, yes, had some thin cream of celery soup with some overcooked rice and that stayed down, so I guess I am ok. My cousin brought me a cream-filled, chocolate-covered donut so I'm going to enjoy that for dessert.

Hope you all are well....

[> It's Friday evening. I am therefore fine. -- AurraSing, Friday, May 23, 10:16:37pm (d154-20-56-169.bchsia.telus.net/154.20.56.169)

Sounds like some kind of food issue, hope you are completely over it now.

Enjoying a quiet evening here. Don over on the mainland to visit his family over the weekend, Ali just took the dogs out for a walk in the hills with a friend (hopefully bear free...) and Andy has been wandering around Beacon Hill Park down in Victoria, enjoying the beautiful evening and texting me photos. He's off to Florida Tuesday morning for work again so I think he wants to enjoy some cool breezes before he hits the heat.

[> [> Seem fine. Think it was either the peanuts or I undercooked my pork cutlet -- Lij, Saturday, May 24, 12:50:18am (adsl-108-67-93-44.dsl.bltnin.sbcglobal.net/108.67.93.44)

I thought I was going to die though. 12 hours of hell. 20 hours of sleep and another half-day recuperation before I started feeling better.

If Andy is like me he may get off the plane and break out into a sweat. I did that three times. Started out in San Antonio where the heat was dry one day and drove to Houston. Opened the (air-conditioned) car's door and the heat and humidity hit me in the face and nearly put me down. Had the same thing happen twice on airplanes. Flying from Denver to Oklahoma City and again flying from Oklahoma City to Houston. It's all relative, Denver and OKC were dryer than where I ended up.
