Don't know if I would recommend a place at beach level but someplace outside of Astoria or near Coos Bay would be nice. The Long Beach peninsula is very laid back and not that far from Astoria either. A lot of places reminded me of life here on the island, the pace is a little slower and that's a good thing unless you like a lot of nightlife or high end shopping, though I see Lincoln City has an outlet mall, lol.
