Subject: I'm kinda - that's kinda - in awe... TYRANT

Family and personal disfunction taken to a whole 'nother level.

Somewhat obvious it its set up, but as this review said: "There are a couple of moments late in the episode — one in a flashback, one in present day — that hint that Barry's self-exile may have more to do with his own capacity for violence than his father's, and that might make this a show worth watching."

You think Barry's (Bassim's) marriage and family is ok, but then he's slapping his son (who seems to be on the verge of becoming a mini-Jamal - his uncle who he has never seen) and his wife is threatening to leave him. Bassim has even been in contact with one of the journalists who leads the opposition. But it was Bassim who killed the 'suspected' terrorist when he was a child at the ceremony - not Jamal who ran and hid. So now with the death of his father and Jamal (who died when the woman bit his cock while driving a mountain road and caused him to wreck), Bassim is to become titular head of his family and also his father's construct of an Arab dictatorship. Yes, Bassim is the TYRANT and not the savior.

Bassim wasn't attempting to run away from his family, he was trying to run away from himself.

Not sure where this is going but even with its preconceived notions but the twist of putting Bassim in the role of TYRANT is intriguing and will bring me back for a second episode.

. . .
