Kandy is by far the worst, she's more than happy to try and sit on the keyboard for attention. Right now she's head butting the table to try and get some pets. If I sit at the dining room table to eat by myself, she'll sit in Don's chair and whine for some love. We suspect that ten years ago she was dumped at Don's pool in Fernie because her owners could not deal with the attention-needy whore.
Cole on the other hand (our cat from a rescue society in Duncan) is more subtle. He's a lot like Toothless from the
"How to Train Your Dragon" series, full of unexpected head bunts and spontaneous outbursts of love. In particular he usually showers me with very rough kisses first thing in the morning when I am standing at the bathroom sink...
Off to grab some breakfast. Kandy is now rubbing her head against my shoulder and purring quietly, happy to have me to herself and pretending as she usually does that she is the ONLY DAMN PET IN THE HOUSE.

Kandy sounds a lot like my baby-girl, Brindle. -- dee, Saturday, June 28, 06:26:41pm (248.38.ultimate-int.uia.net/66.146.38.248)
First thing in the morning she's crying at me to give her attention and wants a lot of love.
That's okay. She's a sweetie.
An aside:
Almost lost her in February when she bolted out of the house in fright. Aardie was bringing in luggage from a trip and the hallway door behind her shut, leaving the only escape route to be the open front door.
Three days of hell it was, searching and crying.
I haven't cried that much in a long time.
Turns out, she was hold up under the hedge next to the house. I went out and called for her night and day but finally saw a glint of the butterfly charm on her collar while looking out the window and hoping/praying for her to come home.
Ran out with some food on a dish. Grabbed her and brought her in the house.
What I was trying to say was...She keeps a balance among the other three cats and makes it a happier family with her being here.

Me too. -- AS, Sunday, June 29, 12:38:59am (d154-20-56-169.bchsia.telus.net/154.20.56.169)
Nothing harder than having a loved one go missing, thankfully she was smart to not go far.
*hugs*

I'm glad for the happy ending! -- Chani, Monday, June 30, 04:18:15am (89-156-8-80.rev.numericable.fr/89.156.8.80)
I fear that my cats might escape some day. They are so feral that I wouldn't be able to catch them outside. They wouldn't last long in Paris...
So I only leave the windows open when the shutters are close. Let's hope the Summer won't be too hot!

Thanks you, Chani. -- dee, Monday, June 30, 06:49:24pm (248.38.ultimate-int.uia.net/66.146.38.248)
My two oldest, Pixel and Havoc, are daughters of a feral mom.
A no-kill shelter near us helps animals transition into new homes. They are really wonderful cats.
My two youngest, Caelan and Brindle, are also considered feral but I suspect it's more along the lines of having been abandoned once the owner realized the female was pregnant.
Seems to happen a lot in Southern California.
Really sweet dispositions with individual personalities, all of them.
Glad your kitties are doing well.
