Duncan (the city south of us and where Don works) has an annual 'Sun-Fest' music festival every August long weekend. They do get some big names in country music every year (Alan Jackson, Travis Tritt, Tim McGraw and next year will be Keith Urban). Now everything takes place in the new exhibition grounds just off of the highway and things get crazy as early as the day before it opens because camping (tents and RVs) are allowed with reservations, so the highway starts getting seriously clogged at times.None of us are country fans in the least and I abhor crowds so none of us are even tempted to attend but we have friends and coworkers who love going. (plus daytime temps are in the low 30's...ugh)

Anyhow, Ali and I were driving down to Duncan Saturday morning to do our grocery run and as we go past, it's a sea of droopy tents, cowboy hats and people starting to stir after the night before.

About a km further, we see a RCMP officer on the opposite side of the highway has pulled over a truck with FIVE GUYS sitting in the truck bed. Needless to say the driver was getting ticketed and the guys were going to be walking to the exhibition grounds. Ali and I start laughing, how more redneck can you possibly get???

It's only one weekend but we saw more short-shorts, tight tees, bad tans, cowboy hats and ass-cracks going through two grocery stores than you would normally see in a year. It's hilarious.
