They are the smallest member of the Greyhound family, topping out at 15" at the shoulder and are a member of the Toy Group in the AKC. Compare that to Whippets 19-22" at the shoulder and Greyhounds 24-30" at the shoulder. Our Whippet Casey is 22" and 45 pounds, our biggest Greyhound was Frankie at 29" and about 79 pounds.

Iggies are great companion dogs, great cuddlers and generally very sweet in nature. A little too delicate for my taste but they are very popular with apartment dwellers. The breed is older than Whippets are-you can see representations of them in quite a few artworks through the ages as much loved companions.
