Subject: Anyone a fan of Da Vinci's Demons?

The soundtracks for the opening and closing of the show is almost worth watching it. But I have a ken for well-produced music.

So, I've just finished the first three episodes. I don't get StarZ, but DishTV had a freebie for this weekend and I taped the 8 eps of season 1 and the first of season 2. I guess that means I will have to wait for another Dish freebie which has the S2 eps in it or next year if they do the same promotion for Starz when Da Vinci's Demons season 3 is starting (if there is a season 3).

Some of the sets have been great, but sometimes you can really tell when CGI is being used. Still the on the whole the sets are quite 'rich.'

But I do like the fantasy they've thrown into Da Vinci's wake (Book of Leaves) while keeping with the historicity of Florence, the de Medici family the Pazzis, and Girolamo Riario.

Just opened up the 4th ep and Riario has taken back the alum mines from the Medici's; so I guess the Pazzi uprising isn't too far beyond.

...... and then, boy was I surprised at the end when Lucretia Donati killed Giuliano de Medici at the ambush by the river. I didn't see that re-write of the history coming.

I was surprised that I actually recognized the spear that pierced the breast of Jesus. I guess I had seen in in National Geographic - at least the one purported to be that spear, though it is said to be of a later design than the 1st century.

Well, I've stayed up all night watching DVD, I guess I might as well watch the last two eps I have.

Hitching Post of the Sun! We're going to Machu Picchu! Eventually.... probably not in the eps I have taped.

Should have seen that coming as well!

LOL!

And now Cosmo de Medici's tomb.... good graphics representing da Vinci's thinking.... it's almost Sherlockian!

....... an aged Leonardo da Vinci!!

Time is a river.....

Or did I get that wrong? I think I'm right. So Leonardo sired the woman he came to love - as well as make love to..... How else would he have had the ring to be given to his own daughter.

Oh shit! They end the season with everything up in the air as Riario blows the lock on the door! Now I have to watch the newest episode. At least I won't have to wait until next year.

I retract that, Donati is not Leonardo.

Dangit... I was hoping that they would have at least gotten out of Florence. But I see that is not to be. Well, watching one year plus at a time was a wild ride.
