Subject: Tomorrow is Castration Day !

Tomorrow, Tibčre is going to lose his balls...well if I managed to catch him and put him in the transport bag.

I made an appointment last week because he had been very vocal at night for a week and because, on Wednesday morning, I found out that someone had peed in the hallway on and inside of the transport bag the kittens love to play with. I swear, this cat is a telepath or something, and does not want to be castrated, for he has been much calmer at night and hasn't made another pee outside his litter since I made the appointment to the vet!

I usually teach 4 hours on Thursday, but tomorrow I exceptionally have only one hour of teaching, at 1.30 pm so it was an opportunity to get it done.

Catching Léto and putting her into the bag wasn't easy, but when it comes to Tibčre it's even more challenging.

I have a plan. Usually in the morning when I get up, Tibčre rushes to the kitchen, while Léto is behind and kinda waits for me. I have to make sure that she stays behind in the sitting room and close the door. Then I will try to lure Tibčre from the kitchen to the hallway and into the transport bag, with tuna juice!
The bag has two openings, front and back. The front one will be zipped and against the wall. The idea is to close and zip up the back one as soon as he is inside, and zip down a little bit the front one to remove the tuna juice before he drinks it.

if it doesn't work -- he should be hungry and he loves tuna, but he is smart and will figure out something is off so I am not sure he will go inside on his own --, I'll have to close the kitchen door, keep him in a small area (hallway and bathroom) and chase him into the bag which unfortunately will be more stressful. He is so sensitive that the less trauma, the better. The vet's assistant is ready to help me out and will provide back up if I can't get him in by myself...

I feel like a general before a battle.

Don't laugh.

......it'll confuse him enough to slow him down.

That cat is so clever that the trap with tuna juice didn't work (he hesitated, finally did go inside but ran out as soon as he felt I was approaching), but after 15 minutes of trying to have him get inside the carry bag, I figure out that I could use one of his favourite toys, the crunch tunnel! I placed one end inside the bag.

It didn't work immediately but at some point Tibčre ran into the tunnel and found himself in the bag! I quickly closed the door while removing the tunnel.

Poor boy was trembling like a leaf at the vet's. :-(

It was quite clever of you to use his toy and just somewhat sit-back and wait for him to 'slip up.'

I hope he doesn't hold all this against you.

he ate some tuna at 9 pm, walked around and slept on the cat tree...but this morning he refused to eat and hid under the sofa when I got up. He's still there, resting with his sister.

I think he was still a bit stoned yesterday in the evening, but now HE REMEMBERS!

You very well may be right...at least he's home and his sister can hold his paw!

And may hold grudges.

I'm sure that after you have fed him about 100 lbs of fancy albacore tuna he'll come around.

;-)
