There may be a very good reason why John never got a close look at te body.

AS and I discussed the Sherlock finale then!

The drug from The Hounds may have played a role. Seeing Sherlock dead is John's worst fear after all...and everything the audience saw after John was knocked down, got up and reached the corpse to feel the pulse was from John's point of view. We definitely cannot trust that picture of dead Sherlock!

I think that Sherlock obviously did not fall, another body fell and broke on the ground. The question is whose body?

Also there's a reason Sherlock told John to stay where he was, while they were talking on the phone. My guess is that Sherlock wasn't exactly where the viewers and John were supposed to believe he was...

He might have been nearby (on the top of another building?), so John would have seen him had he gotten closer. John was talking with him but watching someone else who was on the top of the building.

Moffat's way (on Doctor Who)to fool the audience is that the viewers miss parts of the story so they can't figure it out. We don't know what Sherlock has arranged with the help of Molly, we don't know about the Sherlock's doppelganger(unless it was Morarty wearing make-up and wig?)who scared the kid, and we don't know what Mycroft might have done behind the curtain.

You should see a doctor. Pain in the arm could be related to the heart.

I have a frozen shoulder. Something happened after I lost half my blood, fell, and broke my wrist in 2007. I was excercising while convalescing but my shoulder froze up. I just over-using it now, or extending it beyond what the it is frozen in its movement. And that is what is causing the pain in the arm. I think it has more to do with nerve pain than anything else.
