Subject: Ok... I see what you're saying....

Sherlock got what's-her-name (Watson's sister) to get a corpse out of the morge at the hospital and they dressed it up like Sherlock (there was an awful lor of lost time in the show).

Somehow when Sherlock took the header they managed to switch the body for him and the body fell and crushed its skull so that it could not be identified. There was what looked to be a basement well against the hospital building and as they showed a shot from the building top there were two pigeons that flew out of there. I'm guessing Sherlock was hiding in there. But the question is how the hell did he get there without breaking his neck?

[> Poor, poor Molly. -- AurraSing, Sunday, May 27, 11:03:21pm (d99-199-122-58.bchsia.telus.net/99.199.122.58)

She's not Watson's sister (who we know is gay and an alcoholic) but she is the one person who apparently was too far below Moriarity's radar to even count as a friend. This despite the fact she introduced him to Sherlock back in the first season!!

Anyhow....I think the body she used to help Sherlock fake his death belonged to whomever Moriarity used to kidnap the kids. John was knocked down on purpose, to make him dizzy and confused, the one good look he did get at Sherlock, the corpse's face was partially covered with blood. The crowd that prevented John from getting a good look all appeared to be either real or faux medical personnel or hospital employees, most likely drafted by Molly from her circle of coworkers or even Sherlock's group of homeless hirees.

How he survived the "fall" and managed the switchout will no doubt be covered in next season's debut. Or maybe they will leave us hanging for a bit, after all it took an ENTIRE DAMN SEASON of Doctor Who to explain how he survived dying at Lake Silencio, DAMMIT!

(oh and I do think Mycroft helped orchestrate some of this, he's way too smart not to realise where Jim was heading and helping him along, even if Sherlock's reputation had to suffer)

[> Molly had a crush on Sherlock and used to date Jim Moriarty -- Chani, Monday, May 28, 03:03:15pm (87-231-7-227.rev.numericable.fr/87.231.7.227)

but he never "saw" her which allowed Sherlock to fake his death with her help. She definitely provided both a corpse and a false post-mortem record (an echo to Irene faking her death)but I'm pretty sure it was Benedict Cumberbatch's bloody head that we saw through John's eyes! My money is still on using the Baskerville drug to better fool a dizzy Watson. Even dizzy, John would have seen it wasn't Sherlock, unless the dead guy was teh spitting image of Sherlock.

I think, like AS, that the "double" Moriarty used to kidnap the kids might have played a role, but that would mean that Sherlock (or Mycroft?)had had him killed prior to the big showdown, which would be kinda OOC...unless Moriarty killed him first after using him, and Mycroft had found the body (because you can't conceal bodies from Mycroft!).

But the faux Sherlock might have been just a red herring, and a meta clue rather than an actual mean to fake Sherlock's death. We'll see.

I believe that the place, where he ended up and hid, had been arranged before so Sherlock wouldn't injure himself.

Anyway, he obviously didn't improvise (I think he even signaled his accomplices at some point, when talking to Moriarty)so my main issue here, is: how the hell did Sherlock foresee Moriarty's demand, and also his suicide?

Because Jim could have asked for something else than a big fall; and if Jim hadn't killed himself, it would have been much harder for Sherlock to fake his fall, wouldn't it?

At some point you have to suspend your disbelief, even with the genius that is Moffat.

There's also a plothole about one of the snipers – the one who was supposed to shoot John – settling in the building in front of the hospital instead of following his target around (the other hitmen stayed close to their target!), as if he knew John would come back anyway, to witness the fall...
