Damn.... am I just realizing that back in season 1 that Xander spoke a truth about how what would ultimately be what saved the say at each Sunnydale apocalypse? Some form of knowledge.

I always thought Giles was there not so much to train in the art of battle but to remind them all that knowledge was important too. Coming from a place where how you looked and acted was more important than how smart you are (the popular crowd wisdom), it's always important to remember that librarians can help save the world!
