You're right about the differences in the teams. And in that first scene with the Olivias, Ourlivia looked so much older with lines in her face than did Fauxlivia who looked almost youthful by comparison.

But I do like the geeky Lincoln Lee. I wonder if Brandonate is still at large in the Redverse or if they locked him up?? It almost sounds like Walternate may have been disgraced and fallen from favor as the Secretary of Defense. At least I have that feeling.

Hahaa... great thought about the erasure of a TV character from time with an electron gun from a TV.

Others on the FRINGE-FORUM board have woven theories around the idea that there may be a time war going on and the Observers have been sent back from the future to protect the time-line leading to their inception. They have been compared then to Time Lords but only in passing.

I think Walter was just getting some vicarious thrills with the 'anus.'

Most over at Fthe FRINGE-FORUM board think Walter stole Peter, but that he might not have been saved by September in this timeline after falling through the ice on Reiden Lake (or Peter may have actually been successful in committing suicide when he was young). It would seem to be true that Walter abducted Peter - Astrid reminding Walter that Walternate has a right to hate Walter - but even that could allude to a new, different zero-event. I have made the point on the FRINGE-FORUM board that we need to see if Nina has a prosthetic or if her arm is whole. No prosthetic could be an indicator that Walter did not cross over to 'save' Peter.

This episode was a complete reboot of season 1 episode 1 in many ways. They have been pointed out on the FRINGE-FORUM. Even the case was similar and the loss of partner (although Olivia didn't loose John Scott in S1,ep1, although in the new time-line she did!). I pointed out quite early (it was in live-chat during the program) that the theme of the episode was holes or losses in people's lives. But your correct also, echos and reflections. Echos of losses? It was a rather spiritual episode - even and perhaps more importantly for September. He let emotion rule himself (although some say September might be a future version of Peter, I don't like that). I did have the idea that September may have greater insight into the new timeline as he was the one who predicted the loss of Peter. So is he being emotional - and possibly leading to a rift in the Observers (??) - or is September seeing something new?

We'll see!

No prosthetic could be an indicator that Walter did not cross over to 'save' Peter.

Is that sure? Things could have happened slightly differently. Perhaps Nina didn't have to lose her arm for Walter to cross over this time.

My guess is that Walter still kidnapped Walternate's son and September didn't save that Peter, but maybe the boy managed to commit suicide indeed.

Was there even a William Bell in that alternate reality?

I wonder if there's some kind of chain of command among The Observers. They are still FRINGE's biggest mystery. Hopefully the writers won't screw that up.

Thus my use of the verb, "could."

In the Redverse William Bell is said to have died in a traffic accident. Which is, I guess, how the Bluverse Bell took his identity. Though I have always had an iffy feeling that our Bell killed off their Bell and took his place.

If there is a chain of command it seems to be based on age which is based in their names. Thus December is the eldest Observer and was giving September orders. The new young guy is known as January.
