Subject: Proof that Buy-Morians are not really total fabrications...

So yesterday we went up to Nanaimo to buy Ali a laptop. Having scouted around the various stores for a couple of days, we headed into Best Buy, since they had the overall laptop we were looking for.

The guy helping Don could very well have been Jeff or a less cute Morgan. Shorter Jeff but still had a weird head of hair (bald on top, short sides and most of the back, with a narrow mullet of sparse 12" strands) and spent at least 15 minutes slowly walking around the store in a fruitless effort to find the ONE laptop outside of the floor model that the store inventory said they still had. He talked to every staffer within eyesight about trying to find the computer...the tall, gawky but strangely attractive East Indian guy (Lester...not sure if he was indeed from Saskatchewan), the petite and curvy girl named Amanda (who seemed to be the only female Nerd-Herder),etc.

FINALLY this tall, good lookingish guy (albeit a bit of a ginger) shows up and our staffer admits he cannot find the laptop. About 30 seconds later, "Chuck" presents us with a plain cardboard sleeved computer (they get shipped inside these boxes from the factory, it covers up the much more gaudy packaging we are used to seeing) and tells us that one of his his staffers must have put this one away when they were very drunk, since the public normally doesn't see those shipping sleeves on the floor....

Sadly, no Casey but I didn't make it into Appliances.

Heh.
