Nightmare is the second. Horrible, just horrible to see the devastation it caused.

Straight line winds from 40-60 miles an hour.

Our tornado warning is until 9:45pm (another 40 minutes).

So if you don't ever hear from me again, you'll know what happened. We're on the south side of this line of storms and often that is where the strongest tornados are.

Damn river is never going down.

Oh boy. they just showed the wind direction and there were some wind couplets just to the west of me that are the signature of a tornado.

Had a tornado even to the east of us in Bedford Indiana. Flattened a number of houses.

I also still have power. All the lights are out in much of the city of Terre Haute, though.

Quarter of an inch of rain in ten minutes.

But now there is another tornado warning for our county. Certainly more lightning, even worse than when the first line of storms went through.

3000 houses out of power in our county. 2000 in another, 10,000 up Terre Haute.

After living in the Rockies and having wildfires on either side of us, lightning storms make me a little twitchy. So many trees, thankfully so much rain in this area.

Every so often some July or August a grass fire might get out of control. But I have never heard of a forest fire. Although the Hoosier National Forest sometimes lists the threat of fire as possible.

Heck we regularly burn off brush piles. Though I think that might be frowned upon by the state now. So the tree limbs that went down in the last storm are just getting pushed into the woods in a pile. They should make a nice place for the rabbits.
