I loved it!

And I love Rory more and more with the passing of time.

Also, I wonder whether that episode is a huge red herring or a huge clue concerning what happened at lake Silencio. We had an older Doctor then and he died, just like older Amy did in "The Girl Who Waited".

I've always thought that the Doctor's death in "The Impossible astronaut" wasn't something that had to be fixed but was actually fixing something, like a time paradox.

Older Amy not wanting to die was well done, quite poignant.

In a way, it echoed Ten's distress before regenerating into Eleven, but it was done in a more subtle way than Ten's emotional crisis.

The similarities were there, before our eyes to see: Amy, like The Doctor, would remain and go on, but not quite the same Amy, not The Amy who had experienced the 36 years and had been forged through them; and not quite the same Doctor since Eleven is not Ten. BTW I think there was an obvious hint at the parallel when Rory suggested to give a number to the Amys...of course they both wanted to be One!

Once upon a time Amy made a choice; Rory had to choose this time too. Who's going to make the next choice? River?

I still think that it will be The Doctor himself, choosing to erase one life (and given his ability to regenerate it had to happen the way it did in Lake Silencio) so OUR Doctor will get to follow his "normal path" with his friends.

And I guess that he will do it out of love, he will choose to do it for River, just like Older Amy did it for Rory, so River and her Eleven would have the opportunity to spend time together as a couple.

I think that Rory said something important when he told Eleven "you make me like you" (or something like that).

Vanishing will be The Doctor's choice (and it will show that Eleven is much tougher than Ten).

Since Rory acted as proxy in the episode, wearing the spectacles so The Doctor would see...I have a new idea about who is in the spacesuit in The Impossible Astronaut. I think it could be Rory actually.

In this episode, The Doctor made a choice by shutting the door but he let Rory make the choice of NOT opening the door, so it could foreshadow older Doctor choosing to erase himself for the benefit of a younger self, and using Rory to pull the trigger!

I have to rewatch this, we all sat together and watched the commercial free HD BBC version and it was almost overwhelming in spots...Eleven knowing Rory cannot lie to Amy and forcing him to make that decision in the end.

Lake Silencio and it's great secret, more clues here when Eleven points out two of any one unique thing cannot be in the Tardis at the same time, your thoughts on Rory have me wondering if it could even be the younger version of Eleven who pulled the trigger?

More and more we come to love Amy and her man, it's interesting how at one point fans were howling over Amy's words last season because it looked like Rory was second best in her affections but we've seen that she has a million reasons to love Rory. I wonder if watching these two doesn't help Eleven when it comes to whatever kind of relationship he'll have with River, their love for each other is so fantastic and such a lesson for him in why human emotions may be a hard thing but glorious as well.

Ali wears much the same glasses as Eleven gave Rory, we had a good laugh over that one!

I used to think that The Doctor himself was in the spacesuit in Lake Silencio but I don't think that Older Doctor would have needed to give his killer instructions so he wouldn't regenerate if the killer were The Doctor.

Younger Doctor, our current Doctor showed up afterwards for he had been invited.

Somehow Rory now makes more sense.

Good point about Eleven going through a sort of relationship training by watching Amy/Rory!

Old Amy kills the Doctor. She might have been able to survive the "hand-bots" and Old Eleven finds her when he realized he has to die. She seems angry enough to pull the trigger!
