MARIUS: Daniel, you have been rather reserved lately. We do not fight as much. What is wrong?

DANIEL: I've been thinking about everything. My persona. Is this the real me? Am I really a result of my experiences and feelings, or is my personality predestined to be a certain way? Is everything I'm doing a lie? And if so, what should I be doing? What is my purpose? How may I achieve it? Must I achieve it? Should I?

MARIUS: ......... I cannot answer that. Nor does it concern me. Your responsibility is to the Dream Time. And when the time comes, I will take what is mine and kill you. Worry not over what you cannot understand and prepare for the torment that I alone can give you...

DANIEL: I've been tormenting myself for too long. There is nothing you can do to me, that I have not felt a hundredfold before, in my heart. Why do you wish to torure me so, anyway?

MARIUS: I cannot leave your soul so from from redemption...

DANIEL: I care not for redemption from you. I just want to know if I've been lying to myself all this time, about being nice, and my beliefs, and even my feelings for... *Sigh.* I just need to think... (Walks away.)

MARIUS: Think while you have the ability to, brother. For the hour comes when I shall relieve you of the pain in your heart through the release of death. Then, and then only, may I take my rightful place in the world, accept the role that you are so very unprepared for... (Teleports away.)

Daniel, your persona is how you think you are supposed to be. It doesn't matter if it is right or wrong, just that it's what you think is you. Faates a fickle bastard that you can't fool. You could be thinking it's controlling you, therefore you try to change it...to follow your own path. But how do you know you aren't playing into Fate's reverse psychology?
