VJ grinned after his mother broke the connection. His grin made him look frighteningly like a younger, blue-eyed version of his father.

“What?” asked Duncan.

“Mother’s gonna kill Iggy-ojichan and you.” VJ pushed Duncan off of him, sat up, wiped the blood off his forehead and stood. “Mother can feel my pain, ya know.” He pointed to a scar on his left cheek. “This is where Seion got me with his chainsaw. Mother still wants to kill him for it. You hurt me, now Mother’s gonna kill you. I should have warned you that she’s very protective of me.”

“Why is she gonna kill Poppa?”

“Not sure. Something happened, I know, but what it was, I don’t know.” The door then slammed open and a frail blond Sayin female walked in. “DBVG-Bachan?” asked VJ, watching her enter.

“Hi,” she said in her usual sad tone. She glanced at Mai. “I thought you weren’t in here.” Mai shrugged.

“So did I. Apparently Duncan’s author disagrees.”

“Oh. Anyway, I decided to come up here since it appears to be the safer place. Amanda’s gone angel-type on us.”

“The really ticked form?” asked VJ, keeping a check on his language. He knew she wasn’t ticked off, she was pissed.

“Yes. When the battle is over, I’ll tell you what happened.” She walked off to the darkest corner of the room and sat down with all the grace of the princess of a Sayin colony that was destroyed in an alternative universe of Dragon Ball Z called ‘Dragon Ball: Vegita’s Girl’ (Which she is, and SHAMELESS PLUG!).

“Yep, she and Liam would get along great,” said Mai.

“I don’t get it.”

“Don’t try to. Mom gets that way when she’s mad. You’ll get used to it eventually. After the battle, wanna go watch Mother kick Iggy-ojichan’s butt?”

“I’ll tell you after the battle.”

“Very well.” VJ got back into a fighting stance. “Are you sure you want to continue?”

“Yes!”

“Fine.” VJ slashed again.

God, Mom, was right. The author sucks at writing fight scenes.
