As fate would have it, I was fired on Jan. 24th. The story is sprinkled throughout various threads here. So I don't know what became of that. I'll be showing up on that floor from time to time however, as I landed a position as an acute dialysis nurse and our contract takes us there. Syck, it was so damn funny, this company likes potential hires to "shadow" prior to an official hiring. Low and behold, on the day I'm to "shadow," I get a text telling me to go to my old floor! This happened just a week after I was axed. At first I started stressing thinking that they'd think I was nuts showing up in my uniform looking all ready for duty.. lol.. I thought they are going to think I'm confused, this dipshit who fired me is going to think I've started drinking again.. lol.. Anyway, I thought about it some more, and took the attitude that I'd have some fun with it; I sure did have fun! I walked up there and as soon as I rounded the corner to the unit, I see my ex manager chewing out a resource nurse. I just breezed passed her in my uniform and walked into the assigned room. It was great! I saw her rubber neck me as I met her gaze, and b/c she was engaged, she needed to finish there. She eventually walked down where I was and soon figured out why I was there. The whole situation was great! There were several people coming in the room and hugging me, saying sweet platitudes, but never letting on to the new company that I had just been canned.. I felt loved and avenged all at the same time.. Anyway, back to the nurse who's in trouble with pills, I don't know. I'm curious myself. It's been a slow hiring process for a lot of different reasons, but I'm expecting to be at that hospital quite a bit once I'm out in the field. I'll let you know what I find out.
