Hi everybody...I haven't posted forever or had time to read all the posts....BUT..I had to respond to this before I hit the sack...
To ANYONE considering giving up....
First of all, KNOW that we have all been there and we totally get it..the piece of paper hardly seems worth the AGONY...But, make absolute, 100%, without any doubt whatsoever CERTAIN that you are not up for criminal and/or disciplinary charges if you turn over the golden ticket. For instance....in this godforsaken shit hole fucked up state....let's say I steal drugs...I get bent over by the Board and then offered the fabulous "private" club...Yep, IPN, Alternative Program, whatever you want to call it...The conditions of your involvement in that club may be the only thing protecting you from criminal or disciplinary charges. For instance again...I steal drugs but join the program. It pretty clearly states that if I fail or do not complete the charges, I will be turned over to the disciplinary department. At which time, if the lords of the Board think you are still a threat to society (or even if they choose to be assholes, as in Ohio), they will turn your charges over to local law enforcement. If you have done nothing criminal..say self admitted to alcoholism or overusage of your own scripts, you are probably okay..If you have committed any thing that can be even slightly construed to be criminal, your IPN program may be the only thing protecting you. I know, it's a catch 22, no win, damned if ya do, damned if ya don't situation....And you may feel a huge sigh of relief when you say SCREW THIS and turn over the license and move on with life..however, 6 months later when the cops show up, or you find yourself on the IG list, it's a nightmare....
Just a thought. Fake it till ya make it. It's a nightmare and a total mind rape, but the alternative is everlasting and very PUBLIC. Hope this helps.
