Jinx---don't ever feel bad for being in a "pissy mood" and needing to vent!!!!!!!! One of the many, many things I hated about AA was that nobody was allowed "pity parties". Ya know what...we go through hell, we deserve to be pissy, bitchy and downright psycho sometimes over this crap..I think it's so important to heal!!! So, piss away. And we all have horror stories. In one way or another, we have gotten screwed and we have paid a crap price. My story is not to make anyone feel like their story wasn't "bad enough"--well, maybe a few :)--it's just to let people know that you can survive this crap and there are a few decent people out there that believe in giving us a second chance.
And to Tlcme...here's how it worked in my case. When I did the urine, I was called by the MRO (Medical Resource Officer) AKA a doc in charge of all urines and told my test was positive. I was not allowed a copy of it, because although the pee was mine, the test on the paper was not. (How interesting isn't it). So, I never saw the urine results. Fast forward to the charges. I see the COMPLETELY negative urine and the first call I make is to the attorney crazy enough to think all charges will be dropped...ha ha ha. As I've said before, I was a naive idiot back in the day. The bottom line is, I was not charged with a "positive urine screen", I was criminally charged with drug theft. And since there were meds unaccounted for, I couldn't prove where they went and I had made my admissions of guilt to get in to the confidential program, the deal was sealed. I had absolutely no recourse on the urine. Because that reporting was done in "good faith" and "nobody intentionally gave me a dirty urine result." So, NOBODY was ever held accountable for that. Not the hospital, not the doc and not the company..and believe me, I wrote major letters to all of the above...
Is that clear as mud???? Or as clear as a clean urine????
Now can ya imagine if a nurse reported a wrong result......
