Two years ago (two years post completing the CA diversion program), I was presented with a letter of allegation that I had relapsed. The allegation was partly true and partly erroneous. I almost re-entered the diversion program, simply out of fear that I would eventually be disciplined and bear the Scarlet A (to refresh some memories, I am nearing completion of my PhD in nursing, and said black mark on my license would have devastating consequences on my career). In the end, I elected to take my chances with formal investigation and probable discipline...I just couldn't stomach the stigmatizing degrading "rehabilitation" program that the CA BRN euphemistically refers to as the Diversion Program. I found out last week that my case was closed due to insufficient evidence. A YEAR AGO. This begs the question...would it not have been common courtesy to inform a licensee that that ax is in fact NOT about to fall? Suffice it to say, my memoirs are is progress and the CA BRN does not assume the role of the heroin. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
