Hi everybody...
Yes, Millie started this thread so I actually started looking for info on my own. I'm willing to get the hell out of dodge too just to be able to work somewhere without constant paranoia and feeling "less then" every other person I work with. Besides, I just want to escape.....
So, I did a little researching on my own. It doesn't appear that we could actually work as nurses. Hopefully, Millie has some better news or different info, but from what I can find, you actually have to be a citizen to be able to work (legally) in the country. And citizenship takes a while to obtain. I'm guessing that maybe what Millies friend is suggesting is working as a care taker of the elderly and/or sickly. Which truthfully, if the income was high enough to survive, I would do it. But, doesn't sound like we could actually get licensure in the country for several years, if at all. I would love to know more too.
I too used to work as a travel nurse. Of course that ALL came to a crashing end with my drug fiasco. I can never work as a travel nurse again, or really ever work in another state again because of my "record." My license is limited only to my home state, which can be quite depressing. The Ohio Board of Nursing made certain I would be in their icy cold grip for the rest of my life. And this is exactly why I wouldn't care if I had to move to another country entirely if I would be accepted.
So, that's what I have found....anyone with different knowledge...please, please, please...let me know!!!
