Subject: Happy Snaps

As a young child , I would shudder when Uncle George would suggest we see his latest "Happy Snaps" as he called them
Boring pictures , together with long tirades of happy family talk about the one that got away , those wonderful times camping or the driving holidys. I would fall asleep, dreaming of the real wonderful things one does and secure that my family was with me and I with all my friends , yes, my brother could be a pain but he would always come through when I needed him.
Now
I am older and things have changed, the world has grown colder,Life seems somehow cheaper, social life has become a TV dinner or a visit to Macdonalds, we have all drifted apart , families no longer visit each other and friends are very rare, we compete for space and Isolate ourselves, the cold reality of so called adult life makes me yearn for the comfort of a lost innocence, of childhood, security, My Uncles and Aunts visiting, the smiles... the excitement
