OUR TIME


With the darkness creeping slowly in
Light now fading among the din
Of supper dishes clattering from sink to counter
Last vestiges of the day now being placed asunder
Windows light waning into shadows of time
The memories of the day now becoming sublime
With the thoughts of night now looming in our eyes
Moments waiting patiently for you and I
Our time to walk among the trees
Wandering quietly aimlessly
Lost in the space of darkened sky
With star sparkling so brief and spry
Blossoming lights amid the purplish black
Twinkling silently flirting forward; back
Amid the sounds of night birds calling of….
I wait for your words affirming our love
