Around my waistline, you whip
the rabid foam of your ruffled tide
where shades of jade, pale gray
and blue-sorrowed dusk collide.

Elegantly mad, you rage
in timed movements of despair
while my light skims salted wind
off your promiscuous hair.

Tonight the sky mimics
with its jutting strata of cloud and space
sea cliffs that frame the rising
of your head and slim-shouldered grace.

And against that dark horizon,
you draw from the stern resolve of mine
a fragile glance of empathy
that I can only now define


as pent-up loneliness
I have held within a tower of peace;
Through your tantrum, I feel,
the crash of tears ,the swift release

of panic no one takes into account
when judging the posture of my frame;
Beacon of light, guardian of ships
I am composure, perfect
always the same,
