"DOROTHY'S SLIPPERS"
art of oz by gayle(who runs the days of the new fan club) she is a wonderful artist and writer and friend, andpoem by me
"Dorothy's Slippers"
Red,
Ruby red,
their magic fills my head,
a deep red wine and oh how they shine,
A whim.
The witch of Oz reached for the sheen of the slippers
Dorothy was in.
To wear them to walk on the yellow brick road,
looking for something over the rainbow,
or was it for the
power they may give,
looking for happiness and finding it can be more
priceless than pure gold.
As the story is often told!
The sun has a halo.
The ephemeral joys of childhood!
The dreams do they last?
the handy work of stars that fill the night sky.
The dark blue sea that rolls to the sand of the shore,
wishing and longing forever more,
ever after at the end of every fairy tale,
silver magic under the moon of pale.
