Subject: Shattered Glass

Sparkling, shining, winking bright
shattered glass in dark moonlight.
Crispy pieces under foot
turn fair skin to dusty soot.

Window hangs, broken in
mayhem, screaming soon begin.
Dark the haunting of the night
Dark the wispy barrow wight.

Chase them hither, thither too
stops the heart and turns them blue.
Fear flutters on demon's wings
through minds asleep to unreal things.

Shattered glass, reflection lost
Dark teeth exact vengance's cost.
Gaping smile yawns open wide
there's nowhere left to run and hide.

Face the faceless undead thing
face the fear that makes hearts sing.
No longer light in life does pass
for Death stalks amongst shattered glass.
