I wouldn't say that it was unhappy....just that it's not the type of things that I personally like to read. But, whoever you are, I will read them because you are my friend. That was really good, although creepy.

haha thanks Dove, but you guys are missing the point of the poem. The message to be conveyed appears in the last several lines:
But coldness can mask
And in it can find
Simplicity, worth breath--
Broken homes and
Broken spirits
Refine the prize
Or claim the blood.
The coldness--as in ousting of people from life--ends up bringing out the simple presence in life. And think of "refine" as a verb. Broken homes and broken spirits refine the prize or claim blood. What do you think that means? Think of the line in Have I Done Any Good about preparing the mansions in Heaven. You think that could be the prize the poem refers to? The prize--as in the positive result of withstanding the trials. The blood--the negative. Suicide especially is what comes to mind. So think about it--the trials you go through, broken homes and broken spirits, either refine the prize that awaits you at the end of this journey, or claim the blood that you yourself spill.
Come on, you can do a better interpretation than that ;) don't let the dark words fool you. I wrote it in class after having a discussion with two of my classmates--one of them who's best friend shot herself last year, the other one who has the most screwed up life ever, and has found the simple pleasures in life to enjoy. These are strong kids. It stirred up some powerful emotions inside. Anyways, God bless y'all.

i think i know who it is. im good at catching clues. see, im not THAT dumb. heres what i found:this person writes poetry. this person has "left the group". this person has issues with the way you spell "y'all" (i think). and this person is a girl. so thats how i linked it to the person i think it is. ;) good detective work huh? actually, i just guessed. but it was fun. hahha. but whoever you are, why dont you say it? if your willing to express your feelings, and you want people to act differently after they are expressed, how do they know to treat differently? well, thats my tidbit for the uhhh, i was going to say the day but i dont normally say anything worth listening to every day, so im just going to say tidbit for the uhh year? sure. but maybe this isnt worth listening to. cuz sometimes i just ramble off and go off into the bushes and around the tree and over the rock and through the grass and.....
