Hi All,

So I'm working on my Nano project, which b/t/w at the rate I'm going I'll never hit 50K, and I'm doing dialog bits. When two characters are talking, but with thought only, should it be italicized, or since I've already told the reader they are communicating with thought can I just use the standard "...". I'm not sure which is correct. I'm not letting it bog me down but I'm curious because at some point I will have to (shudder, groan, tumbleweeds roll past) EDIT this story.

For those interested: Current NaNo word count: approx. 6000words I dunno why I did this to myself. Somebody shoot me. Ok I'm off to go back to writing.

Heya! You're at least doing NaNo; I knew there was no way after I thought about it a bit..

I use italics for thought when I'm in one person's head, so I don't see wht it wouldn't work for a telepathic dialogue. I've also seen single quotes and nothing at all indicating thought but italics are most clear to me.

How about a little sample when you get a chance to breathe? (wink*wink*nudge*nudge)

Thank you both for your help. I figured quotes for most part but I have a few moments where I made it italic. It seemed right. Dunno.

I'm doing my best for the NaNo but word count is down but getting there. Stopping at the moment for a breather. You gotta do that every hour. I alot 10 minutes then right back in. I need to push another 1500-2000 words out tonight then I will feel good. Have my zep music playing, yeah it's good.

And yes there are some typos, etc. but this is for the Nano and I just cut/pasted from Word as is. Let me know what you think. I will def post more if people want to see, but I don't want to be a board hog. :-)

I have seen italics used a lot for toughts. And to me that would be the most easy thing to distinguish thought/telepathic communication from spoken words AND normal text.
