Subject: Long Time
I don’t know where the time has gone, but good grief, it doesn’t feel like as much as it has been. I’ve been meaning to make this post for a while now, but haven’t because…well…this is…I mean…really. How does this happen? Well…you see it’s like this…

I owe everyone an apology for my absence. I’m sure I’m not alone in expressing life is busy. Again. Family and work take a lot of effort. With me, I’m still working stupid, crazy hours, still have to put on my various hats, and well, yeah, I’m tired. My day starts off at 3 or 4 am because that’s when my mind starts to remind me of all I need to get done. By the end of the day, when I normally would sit at my computer to type in some words, I’m done. Add in the family issue I hinted at before, and not only am I tired, I’m drained. So what do I do? I sit like an idiot in front of the TV watching episode after episode on Netflix.
So after pondering on things for awhile I admitted to myself that it’s not my life that’s keeping me from writing, or from this board, it’s my choices.
And now that I’ve acknowledged my problem, I have a choice whether or not to do anything about it. My life hasn’t changed since my post in freaking September, and I’m smart enough to realize it won’t change all by itself. Thinking back, writing made me happy. Writing was fun. Posting was a blast. Editing after receiving comments, well…yeah, there was a certain joy seeing my work get better. It was challenging. There was no better place to come with my morning cup of coffee than to the Lit Forum to see what was new.
I still have my caffeine addiction, so I’m making a choice to get my writing obsession back to go with it. That is a more proactive approach than waiting and wishing for things that could be. And hey, if I get up at 3am to do it, all the better. That’ll give me two and a half hours before my alarm goes off to practice my craft.
So, here’s what I’m planning to do to get started.
1. Post a check in post every Saturday – this is where we are accountable, checking in with our progress during the week, and a place to share some of our work if we are so inclined without expectation of a crit. It’s just a look what I did! kind of post. Or a place to share accomplishments and our challenges.
2. Post a new homework assignment every second Sunday! Gads I miss this one.
3. Post something, anything, to get this board scrolling again. I could use some help on this one. You see what I’m saying?
4. Change the wallpaper more often.
5. And I promise, promise, promise, that this is the last post like this that’ll come from me.
Hugs
Esther

I'll try to help, but my day also starts at 3:30 until I fall asleep in my chair at 9. I _am_ a writer, though, and really ought to do something about it. :) (((Esther))) --

Are you living my life? Because I can so understand! I'm trying to make it a part of my routine, but geez, it's hard to squeeze out an hour. But we'll get there! --

My day starts at 6 at the moent and ends when the DD1 is in bed (at the latest around 9 she is asleep). That alone would not cause me to be drained but te DD2 is not really sleeping well at the moment meaning tht I rarely get more than 4-6 hours a night, but with 2 hours at s time at the most and that is baaaad. But I wrote something again, it is small and I'll post it sometime the next week. But I wrote!!! It was a timed challenge to write something about a pic and the pic didn't leave me ;) -- Lady Morilka, 15:12:13 04/05/14 Sat

Lady M! So good to see you! And how excellent is it that you wrote! I can't wait to read it. Seriously. Post it sooner rather than later. >>> --

Sorry to hear you aren't getting much sleep. I'm having flashbacks to my DD when she was born. I swear I didn't sleep for more than 2 hours at a time for a year, and of course, she was my second child as well.
I saw your message about the website and I promise to check it out. Soon. *G*
Big Hugs to you.
