Poverty has always been a major problem in the U.S. I am sure you may have opinions on the causes of poverty, but I want to research this thoroughly and try to find the underlying cause of poverty. I have always been interested in this topic and I can try to find out the major causes of poverty. I am sure there is not going to be one or two causes, but I want to narrow it down to major causes.
My initial thought on this was that maybe people were getting laid off more frequently which leads to people not being able to find a well-paying job. But that is just one of my opinions or theories of this growing problem. I am well aware poverty does not occur just in the U.S but I will be focusing only in the U.S. I also wanted to find out which age groups were affected more in terms of homelessness. What I mean by this is I am going to find out which age groups tend to be more homeless than others. All the questions that I pose here are questions I do not have definite answers to, only mere opinions. But since I will be doing heavy research I am hoping I can answer these questions and then some.
In addition to that, I am going to find out if race or gender makes a difference in poverty. It seems to me like minorities tend to face poverty more than whites. But that theory is brought on by my personal opinion and perhaps media. So as I start the paper on poverty, I will not only address these questions but the specifics of poverty.
