Hello Gene, your patch is the ebmlem for WW2 USN Fighting-Bombing squadron -74 (VBF-74),I am a leather unit patch maker and in my line of work I have to know a lot about emblems and thier unit designations and this one I found on the Naval Aviation News back issues section of thier web page, I wanted to let you know and glad to help, it was an F4U Corsair unit, I don't know how PBY's fit in with that unless he transferred to another unit or came from that one to this as they are tottally different missions. Anyway if you can send me a scan of your patch I'd sure appreciate it!!! Johnny Signor
