Subject: Tony the tiger squadron patch question

Dear Sirs, I am in a quandry. I own the Combat Squadrons of the Air Force in WWII History and Insignia by Maurer Maurer. In it under the 561st Bombardment history is an image described as such:On a disc light yellow, with wide border black a caricature "Smug Tiger", courant, proper (orange with black and white markings), carring a bomb red on his right forepaw (Approved 31 Jan, 1955).

Since I know this not to be the correct insignia, what is it? I know this book is riddled with inacuracies. It resenbles this exact image but not with a cereal box.

I would like to know what this insignia is from. Sincerely, Scott
