Subject: Trying to Identify patch with letters spelling "JAPA" in red

Hi, first let me say this is an amazing site and thanks for setting it up for all of us to view. Second I have a patch I've found recently with a photo of what appears to be a WWII airman (bomber jacket, goggles, looks like a colorized b&w photo) and with it is a patch with the letters spelling "JAPA" in red with a shield. Does this sound familiar to anyone as a known unit patch? Thanks in advance for any help!
