Laurie - I am the authority on the 465th. I knew your dad well, and have been doing a quarterly newsletter to the remaining troops for 25 years. There are just 17 of us left. Your dad was a S/Sgt in the Propeller shop. We had 17 B-17's and 5 B-24's that he maintained the Props for. I was in the Engineering Office and visited the shops daily, of course I was 18 - 21 at the time.Uncle Joe was our Commanding Officer (Joseph D. Wager-Smith). Ask me anything. I have all the information on the 465th,a great outfit.
