I've lurked a bit and posted a couple of times on the new iV boards, but it's very time consuming and user unfriendly. For debate, it's very difficult--even *with* the "outline view," which some folks keep trying to pretend is as good or better than the old format. Someone on one of the boards (Talk to Soup, maybe?) mentioned that the new format is flawed because it's essentially missing a key component of dialogue structure: sequence. I agree completely. It's just too fussy, frankly, to go back and forth between an outline window and a post window, and to have *more* windows open up every time you go to a new board and read *its* posts. Then there's "favorites," which ALSO opens in a new window. Between all those windows and the other windows and documents I already have open at any given time, it's too cluttery and too time-consuming to keep track of them all. Besides, HT and MVD are hemorrhaging practically to death. HT gets a few new posts a day in a couple of threads; MVD has all but bled to death already. (On the plus side, the new format seems to have killed off the troll, lol, who now only posts under 1, maybe 2, nicks.)

I hope this board can survive and that enough fresh meat shows up to keep it moving.
