Subject: The guilty party should be addressed directly

We've had the same thing happen where I work. For instance, we often validate the parking for clients who come in. The stamp to validate the tickets is at the receptionist desk. We once had a receptionist who was validating her own parking on a daily basis. Most of us knew it was being done, because we'd see her do it. (Keep in mind, this is the most expensive parking garage in town - $7.00 per day to park). When it was brought to management attention, they did an e-mail to all employees - two times - before confronting the culprit directly.

And, yes, the rest of us were ticked off to receive the e-mails, because as you said, we *knew* who was guilty and resented being lumped with the actual culprit.

Of course, one has to wonder about those annual e-mails sent to all employees about internet use..... hmmmmmm.....LOL
