Good lord.. I've had so many, how can I single out just one? I think I've told this one before...

Probably my freshman year in high school when I was in the dance concert amongst juniors and seniors. I was kind of a dork that year and completely stuck out like a sore thumb as it was. My sister was Miss Popular and a senior, so I was always trying to live up to her standards, and was always trying to get in with the cool crowd. This night was not my night to do it.

Well, during this major dance concert that I had performed in, during intermission I went to join my freshman crowd in the audience to say hello. Before I knew it, I realized that the concert had begun again while I was gabbing. I only had 3 seconds to realize that I was supposed to be in "my spot" on stage at that very moment. Since I had to go backstage to get ON the actual stage, I had to go around the building to the back door. So, I jumped off the bleachers burning rubber, as fast as my skinny legs could run, bolted through the auditorium doors and flew past a large group of VERY popular, cute, and important people in the school who were hanging out outside. Well, I didn't get very far until I ran through a dip in the pavement, (you know the kind that you don't know is there, but it throws you outta whack?) ... anyway, the dip at the speed I was going was enough to throw me into a full summersault down to the ground, through a huge pile of leaves, through a puddle... but the momentum of my sprint had suddenly popped me back on my feet at the end of it. Covered in leaves and goo, and puddle water, I just kept on going!! I glanced back and the group of VIP's were just standing there staring my way as though thinking "What in God's name was THAT?" Not a very good impression. Anywho, I made it back to stage, a little worse for wear, blood trickling down my knee, and finished the act. My dance partners also gave me the run down like, "Nice work."

Anyway, the next day, I was in lunch line getting a pizza and the guy in front of me (hot, hot hot, most popular guy) turns around and says, "Hey, aren't you the chick that did the super commando thing in the leaves last night?" (Or something along those lines... it was a long time ago!) Only about 45 people overheard and I slithered back to my freshman lawn. I probably fell at least 30 times that year... thank god that's over!

jeez... awfully long. Sorry! :)
-Jo
