You're right Idaho... Agamemnon's wife did go to "unknown" space... and who knows, she might have build an empire of thinking robots with herself as its head... That would't be a bad plot course. Either way, it's thinking machines... I'm pretty sure of it.

Though, I am not willing to dismiss the idea of some alien intelligence. As long as they follow Frank Herbert's notes to the letter it could be super-mutated Girl Scouts shooting giant radioactive cookies out their mouths for all I care (though that would really lower Frank's standing in my book).

At some point in time it was mentioned in one of the original novels that the maintenence of such huge stockpiles of nuclear weapons was also for the possibility of an attack from some "other intelligence." Which may just be a bit of foreshadowing on FH's part. That would be cool...

But I'm betting on Omnius. I'm certain that Agamemnon's long lost wife will reappear (because BH and KA would not have gone to the trouble of including that particular storyline without a good reason). And who knows, Agamemnon may just escape the carnage of the Jihad and join her "out there"... plotting and scheeming... and waiting for the right time.

IN fact, the God Emperor's mad rush to breed a human who was invisible to prescience may just well lend creedence to the fact that a human/Cymek being may well be out there... evolving too. What a thoughtfull god!
