I have to disagree. I believe that Abomination, is not the same thing as looking into the place they cannot go.

The words are in one of the later chapters of Dune that prove my point.

Reverend Mother Gaius Helen Mohiam says of Alia when she was brought ebfore the Emperor "Long were we warned against such a one and how to prevent such a birth, but one of our own has betrayed us."

This sentence implies that those like Alia, Abomination, have NOT come before and that the Bene Gesserit were warned never to allow the circumstances to bring such a one about. There is also nothing to indicate that Alia has "looked into the place we cannot go".

However, as you yourself have noted, the Bene Gesserit have experience with "The place they cannot go." They know of that place and cannot go there and are well aware of it. And that place isn't just masculine memory. It is the vision that Paul has, The PAst, Present, and Future all at once. There is absolutely no indication that Alia has this power. In fact she destroys herself trying to attain it by weakening herself so that the personality of the Baron overwhelms her, but she doesn't ever go to that place and the Baron destroying her has nothing to do with that place other than trying to get there weakened her.

The fact is that Bene Gesserits before Alia had no access to male other memory. They knew of it, knew it was there and physically couldn't go into them. Alia physically could. This makes her different than other Reverend Mothers.

Under your scenario, other Reverend Mothers would be able to access that male other memory and became Abominations and there is no indication that it was possible for a woman before Alia or that they looked into masculine other memory caused abomination.
