it looks like norma's mother is already looking at a breeding program. this looks to me like the b.g. in it's infancy. being that the guild is a school of mathematics, and norma is certainly most gifted in that field not to mention the inventor of fold space travel, she is probably the seed for the guild school. i haven't finished m-c yet but they have to develop spice trance for steersmen and as far as the battle of corrin goes, maybe a harkonnen offspring gets banished for cowardice by an atreides offspring. i agree about the 'magical powers' of norma. also we would have heard of the soostones' powers long ago.
