although it is obvious, i would like to remind everyone of the fremen ideal of living with their planet rather than just off of the wealth provided. what ghani said in her post is great. although the power mad feudal system in place at the time of arrakis is really shallow, the fremen and their planet conciousness reminds me of the choices we face in our world today. living on the arctic cicle, i can only grow food during the summer but i subsist off the land a great deal,thankful as to where this bounty originates, and know the satisfaction of doing so.
