Subject: Yes...many of the plot elements were contrived

Yes I too believed that Raquella's Transformation was a bit contrived...she wasn't even a sorceress or anything or had any training... plus the C-Note Water had nothing to do with Spice...it was a little odd. It would have been nice to see her have a moment with Norma Cenva since those two were the ones with the power to access their ancestral memory.

In addition, the Harkonnen's actions at Corrin seemed out of place...it just seemed that Abeluurd had forgotten his entire military training. And he was the ONLY one that questioned Vorian's actions. A guy in the military like Abeluurd, one who had idolized Vorian, and who knew the consequences of machine survival, would not have did what he did. And if he did do it, there would have been an entire faction of the military behind him to do it. All of a sudden this brave man turns "coward" and while the authors tried to make him sympathetic by giving him the reason of actually saving innocent lives, they just ended up making him look like Quentin and the Sorcerers had said of him all along....he was weak. Major disappointment for a character that had been very likable. Both Atreides and Harkonnen should have a feud based on more than that i think.

I was also disappointed that there weren't "wheels within wheels" as you said, especially in regards to the Kwisatz haderach program. An interesting point that is referenced in DUNE as well as in the prequels was that regardless of their plans, the Kwisatz haderach was supposed to come as Paul, unbeknownst to the Bene Gesserit, as if the plan had been for it to be Paul all along. I thought that this would have been shown to be a great secret started at the inception of the Kwisatz Haderach program. I thought that there would have been a program in place that was to be kept even secret from the sisterhood so that ultimately the true plan comes to fruition in Dune. Instead there was nothing. So I guess we really have to believe there was a "higher" power at work, ie GOD, that made it happen....blech. That or just stupid Jessica fell in love and that's the totality of it. Ok fine. Jus tthought it would have been cooler if there had been a master plan since it was alluded to in the appendix of Dune and it's prequels.

Also, the character test reveals your persoanlity matches of the main characters because to be an ordinary JOE BLOW like you are in real life would be fucking boring man. But considering I am someone important, and I came up with someone important when I took the test, I'd say maybe that's how it should be. Glad you are content with being a nobody even in your fantasy life.
