Well, trust me... You can bet that when SciFi is thinking about whether or not to do another Dune mini-series, the abundance of sex in the subsequent novels as demonstrated by the Honored MAtres is NOT something that is going to hinder production.

Regardless of your personal feelings, sex sells big time! get a couple of nubile girls to play Honored Matres, throw in an actor like Edward Atterton (or another actor) that has some sex appeal playing Duncan Idaho and bill it as soft-core porn in space.
I guarantee you it will have the highest ratings of any SciFi show to date and probably would be #1 in the time slot.
Anyway, the point here is that I don't the sexual overtness of the Honored MAtres even factors in when you think about continued SciFi minis. If you watch the Director's cut of the first Dune, there is quite a bit sexual stuff that was only even suggested at in the version that aired.
Dune is ultimately a human universe, and sex is a big part of being human. I think a lot of viewers and readers (myself included) are drawn to a lot of the sensuality that is present in the Dune novels.

Moreover, Heretics and Chapterhouse are much more sexually charged and action oriented than the previous books. In terms of getting viewers, those things are a plus. So I think if anything those factors would convince execs. that future Dune mini-series' would be exciting television, not problematic or a negative factor.

Thems my cents
