As far as Other Memory is concerned, it is clear that it is different from Pre-Born. Mohiam in the quote I just showed you says that she can look back into her body's memory. And thus she can see the past.
This is the basic principal of Other Memory as outlined by her in the text. However, she can only see the female avenues.
The Kwisatz Haderach should be able to do the same thing only with both male and female avenues.
Thus by very definition of what the Kwisatz Haderach is, he has Other Memory.
However, this is NOT the same thing as being Pre-Born where someone's memories and persona actually live inside a person. Other Memory as you said, is probably much more like prescient vision, only in the past.
Therefore, I still can see how Paul was overwhelmed by Leto's "memories".
Basically, Paul can see the past, he can see into the male avenues of the past, the male memory.
But that doesn't mean he can converse with his ancestors or take on their personalities. He can't speak with their voices or hear their thoughts. But he can SEE the past of his male ancestors and so forth. He can remember the past.

This assessment of Other Memory is also corroborated in the Prequel novels (I know some people don't believe they are canon, but tough). When Jessica is born, the book says that everything was being particularly focused upon so that it was recorded for future reverend mothers to look back at. In other words, they could see the events of everything that happened, but they can't converse with the personalities of these past reverend mothers and so forth.

That is why I agree with you about Paul, but I still call his abilities Other Memory.
