Well I have to say that I already guessed that the face dancers are machines.

I would think your idea was really cool, if it hadn't been the exact same thing in the Matrix. Basically the Humans are encapsulated living in the dreamlike world because the Machines use the humans as an energy source and use the MAtrix to contain them and keep them occupied.

So I really don't hope this happens in Dune because I don't want it to be the same as what is out there right now.

Already many fans don't want to believe the whole MAchine thing because it IS derivataive of the Matrix or Terminator series (though Dune came first). And while I don't think the thinking Machines in dune have to be derivative, your scenario is basically plageurized right out of the MAtrix movies.

When you say Love is something that humanity has that Machines don't, I think that is precisely the theme Herbert wants to evoke.

Perhaps, in some way it will help the good guys defeat the MAchines. In spite of all the god like powers of Prescience in the Bene Gesserit, Duncan Idaho, Miles Teg, and Sheanna, maybe it's simply love that will be the ultimate weapon somehow?
