Subject: opinions?

i was just wondering if any of you put any weight to information in the dune encyclopedia. there are so many questions that i had after reading the books (six times!), and alot of them were for the most part answered there. it wasn't written by Herbert, but he wrote the foreward to it and gave it his approval.

alot of what you all discuss is kinda laid out there. however, some of the info is conflicting with later works, as the encyclopedia only covers material from Herberts notes and the first three novels.

its a good read anyway, and it really flushes out some of the muck and mirk surrounding certain issues.

Herbert gave his approval of the entire book, so do you all consider it canon or not? just wondering...
